Long-awaited pay raise planned for human service workforce

March 30, 2022 – After years without a significant cost of living raise, workers who care for some of the most vulnerable New Yorkers are poised to get a pay bump, but it remains to be seen how this additional compensation will take shape in the state budget. Mental Health Association in New York State CEO Glenn Liebman and Cerebral Palsy Association of New York State President & CEO Mike Alvaro make the case for an 11% increase that has been championed by state lawmakers and highlight the need to make future raises more predictable.
