Thousands of NY children grapple with the loss of parents to COVID-19
Oct. 13, 2020 – More than four thousand children in New York have lost a parent during the COVID-19 pandemic. We talked with Jennifer Havens, Vice Chair of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Langone Health and a professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry, about the behavioral health effects this can have and funding cuts that threaten mental health services.
