Reporters expose impotence of NY AG’s conviction review bureau
October 20, 2025- The state attorney general’s office is supposed to offer a pathway for exonerating New Yorkers held behind bars for crimes they didn’t commit, who have few means of demonstrating innocence, but reporting in New York Focus suggests the convictions review bureau hasn’t lived up to its billing. We discuss the shortcomings of this initiative with investigative reporters Willow Higgins and Curtis Brodner.
