Expanding the footprint of accessible public transit

July 17, 2024 – New Yorkers with disabilities have a limited ability to access specialized public transit upstate, so there is an effort to expand the geographic area of these services, explains Denise DiNoto, the executive director of the New York State Independent Living Council and Todd Vaarwerk, chief policy officer of Western New York Independent Living.
