Comptroller’s office scrutinizes unemployment payouts
July 2, 2024 – The Hochul administration should have recouped more than $40 million from the federal government for unemployment payouts during the pandemic, according to Tina Kim, deputy comptroller for the division of state government accountability in the state Comptroller’s Office, which conducted an audit of the state Department of Labor.
