Student debt deterring lawyers from working for public interest

Jan. 25, 2024 – For many young lawyers with student loan debt, a long-term career in civil legal services or a public defenders office isn’t financially viable, so there is a push in Albany to increase the state’s loan support program for working in the public interest.
