Organized small-game hunting prizes eyed for extinction

September 15, 2023 – Democratic state lawmakers pushed through a bill in the spring that will prohibit organized competitions that award prizes for hunting small game, like coyotes or squirrels. We consider the merits of this ban with Brian Shapiro, state director of New York for the Humane Society of the United States.
