State research lab expanding understanding of developmental disabilities

Sept. 29, 2026 – New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities Commissioner Willow Baer talks about the research arm of the office, the Institute for Basic Research, which was written into state law in 1958 with the goal of improving the diagnosing, prevention and treatment of developmental disabilities.
