Requiring e-bikes to be equipped with lights

Aug. 17, 2026 – State lawmakers are looking to require e-bikes and e-scooters sold or leased in New York to be equipped with lights on the front and back. We consider this mandate with Noah Miterko, senior manager for state and local policy at PeopleForBikes.
