NY wastewater monitoring promotes public health

Sept. 11, 2024 – The state’s wastewater surveillance system, set up in 2021 to respond to the pandemic, has been recognized by the CDC as a “Center of Excellence.” We explore how wastewater monitoring is promoting the public health with Dan Lang, deputy director at the Center for Environmental Health at the State Department of Health, and Kirsten St. George, director of virology for the state’s Wadsworth Center.
