Legal representation gap persists in civil courts

October 20, 2023 – In September. the state’s chief judge convened a hearing on the lack of access to lawyers in civil court proceedings. We consider what this justice gap means for low-income New Yorkers and how it can be addressed with Adriene Holder, chief attorney of the civil practice for The Legal Aid Society.
