Funeral homes want relief from outdated state fee

Aug. 22, 2023 – A decade after funeral directors voluntarily started ponying up to build a digital system of reporting deaths to the state, they’re hoping to retire this annual cost now that the electronic system has been up and running for years, according to Randy McCullough, deputy executive director of the New York State Funeral Directors Association.
