Overhauling New York’s clemency process

Feb. 13, 2022 – Gov. Kathy Hochul promises from 2021 to overhaul the clemency process in New York have yet to be fully adopted, so legislation is being advanced to write reforms into state law. Clemency Coalition of New York co-Coordinators Socheatta Meng and Fanta Fofana make the case for increasing transparency in the process and granting more clemencies.
