Heading to Albany: Socialists make inroads in upstate

July 8, 2022 – The Democratic Socialists of America are poised to make inroads in the state legislature outside of New York City, following the upset victory of Sarahana Shrestha in the June Democratic primary against Assemblymember Kevin Cahill. The Hudson Valley activist turned candidate joins the program to discuss the grassroots movement that made up her campaign and her expectations for office.
