New York uses nuisance law to pursue gun distributors

July 7, 2022 – A lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James against out-of-state gun distributors will test a 2021 expansion of the state’s public nuisance laws. We turned to Don Chesworth, a partner with the law firm of Tully Rinckey and previously the head of the state police, for analysis of the claim and how it might play out.
