New York farmers prepare for marijuana growing season
April 19, 2022 – In April, state regulators gave 52 hemp farmers conditional licenses to grow marijuana this spring so that the recreational market will have products to sell later this year. New York Cannabis Growers & Processors Association President Alan Gandelman, whose Finger Lakes-area farm got one of these licenses, discusses the learning curve for new marijuana farmers, the economic potential and the regulatory hoops to jump through.
