March 17, 2022 – In 2021, undocumented New Yorkers were able to secure $2.1 billion in the state budget for cash assistance payments to make up the federal benefits they were ineligible to receiver during the pandemic. But those payments didn’t cover all the potential recipients, so Assemblymember Karines Reyes, a Bronx Democrat, explains the push to invest $3 billion toward this initiative in this year’s budget.
