Relaxing New York’s food procurement rules

March. 9, 2022 – State Sen. Michelle Hinchey, an Ulster County Democrat, has introduced legislation that would relax the state’s procurement rules, so government institutions and non-profit organizations could make food purchases that reflect their values and aren’t just the lowest cost options.
