Lake Champlain at risk of invasion
Feb. 14, 2022 – Waiting to attack Lake Champlain from the Hudson River this spring is the Round Goby, an invasive species that arrived in New York in the early 1990s. Stu Gruskin, the chief conservation and external affairs officer with the Nature Conservancy in New York, says the state has a simple choice it could make that would keep the lake safe this year, while a long-term plan is put in place to thwart the expansion of the round gobies.
