Feb. 10, 2022 – A 2014 amendment to the state constitution was supposed to have the effect of removing redistricting from the hands of the state legislature, but the process ultimately ended with state lawmakers drawing lines that are objectively partisan. Jack Martins, a Republican appointee to the state’s bipartisan redistricting commission, discusses changes to the constitution that could have produced less partisan results.
