In red political country, Democrat embraces blue policies

Feb. 1, 2022 – Leslie Danks Burke hasn’t shied away from her liberal ideology in repeated efforts to knock off a Republican state senator, arguing that candidates are best served by being honest about their values. The Ithaca Democrat is taking the same approach in her third bid to state senate, which may finally bear fruit, as the result of new legislative boundaries.
