Jan 31, 2022 – In January, a blue-ribbon commission assembled by former-Gov. Andrew Cuomo delivered its findings on the future role of forensic evaluators, controversial mental health professionals who can play an integral role in child custody and visitation cases in family court. New York State Office of Children & Family Services Commission Sheila Poole, who served as a co-chair on the commission, discusses the group’s recommendations for the industry and explains why she didn’t want to scrap the job entirely.
