Rural schools face unique funding and logistical challenges

Jan. 26, 2022 – The education portion of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s budget proposal is being widely heralded by advocates for schools and teachers, but Rural Schools Association of New York State Executive Director David Little says the spending plan is far from perfect for many upstate schools and also warns about the challenges of mandating zero-emission bus purchases by 2027.
