After half a century in the Assembly, Dick Gottfried plans for retirement

Dec. 23, 2021 – After more than 50 years in office – making him the longest serving state lawmakers in New York history – Assemblyman Dick Gottfried is retiring at the end of 2022. We talked with the Manhattan Democrat about his achievements in office, his regrets and serving as a progressive mentor to young liberals.
