Second prize in a statewide Democratic primary: The suburbs

Dec. 14, 2021 – While the bulk of the state’s Democratic turnout for this year’s gubernatorial primary will come from New York City, the other big prize is the New York City suburbs. To consider who these voters are, what they care about and which candidate they might be drawn to, we turned to Larry Levy, executive dean of the National Center for Suburban Studies at Hofstra University.
