State DEC responds to emergence of PFOA in drinking water
October 7, 2021 – New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Chief of Staff Sean Mahar explains how the Hochul administration is responding to the detection of PFOA in the drinking water of a small community in Rensselaer County. We examine how testing is being utilized, the search for the source of contamination and what risks are posed by the amounts of the toxic “forever chemical” that have been detected so far.
