University at Buffalo jumpstarts campus discussion about race and racism

Sept. 2, 2020 – The recent killings of Black people by police officers and the subsequent protests have sparked conversations about race across the country. This week, the University at Buffalo’s Graduate School of Education will effectively shut down on Thursday and Friday as they hold a “teach-in” for discussions and lessons on race. Raechele Pope, Associate Dean for Faculty and Student Affairs and Chief Diversity Officer at the University at Buffalo Graduate School of Education and one of the directors of the event, previewed the event.
