June 24, 2020: Veil of secrecy lifted: Police disciplinary records become public
The newly approved repeal of section 50A of the state’s Civil Rights Law allows for the disciplinary records of law enforcement officials to be publicly disclosed. Molly Griffard, Legal Fellow at the Legal Aid Society’s Cop Accountability Project, weighed in on the repeal and how these records should be made available.
