June 2, 2020: Protesting while black: Senator pepper sprayed & handcuffed
Protests have erupted across the country and state over the killing of George Floyd, an African American Minnesota resident, while in police custody. Sen. Zellnor Myrie (D-Brooklyn) was one of the participants this past weekend. The Senator recounted his experiences at the protest which included being pepper sprayed and handcuffed.
